One aspect of my grandmother’s legacy

As I mentioned in an earlier post, we recently took a trip to see my grandparents, dad & Marty, and my aunt and her boys. While there, I had occasion to think about what my grandmother has taught me throughout my life. One thing which sprang immediately to mind was her philosophy of ‘live and let live.’ She may not have always said it that way and it may have not always been obvious, but she truly believes in the idea. While she definately has her ideals and strong religous beliefs, things which have served her well all these years, she also cleaves to the idea that people will do what they will and she is in no position to tell them they shouldn’t. It really hit home for me. There are many situations in my life where I would like to think I know what I am talking about and that, in fact, my way is the right way. Well, thank you Grandma, for trying to set me straight; I will try to honor you by following your example.
