You are not able to stand in the same river twice

Well, we haven’t given an update on how Maggie is developing. There are actually several things worth mentioning:
- Her poop has begun to stink, not necessarily every time but enough that we are receiving our initiation into one of the truest markers of what it means to be a parent.
- She has begun ‘tracking’ movement, whether it is one of the animals (she loves to watch Wilson play ball) or one of us walking across the room. Her eyes move right along with you…she is just starting to move her head as well.
- She continues to ‘talk’ A LOT!!
- As Erin has mentioned, she is really developing the ability to self-soothe, usually by sucking on her fists.
- Her neck is really strong now; you only have to watch when you’re holding her chest to chest and walking. She can be picked up from a laying-down-on-her-back position with no neck support whatsoever.
- Her smiles are predictable, i.e. we know what to do to get her to smile. She has the cutest little grin…actually, sometimes it’s not that little–it seems to light up the whole room.
- Finally, and this is Erin’s assertion–I kind of doubt it, she is starting to look at her feet and toes as though she understands they are her’s. There is some term in child development/psychology that articulates that but I can’t remember. Regardless, I think I remember that 11 weeks is too soon to assume she is gaining that understanding.
Maggie’s definately coming along. We are getting to the point fast where we have to know what to do with her as far as interaction. We need to do some research online regarding that subject.

she is becoming her own little person.if you watch closely Maggie will start to stare at hand. this will be the beginning of her awareness of her body and what the hand is used for. shei is probably ready to start grabbing things such as pulling earrings off , glasses, your hair, etc. watch wilson`s, cat`s tails as they go by. boy will they be in shock.
I guess Jason does’t have to worry about the hair grabbing… (chuckle)
Neither do you, smartie pants.
