Not a record but good enough

Posted on May 13, 2006 - Filed Under Travel

Well, we’re back from the big trip to Florida. It was good to get away and enjoy a change of scenery, but I gotta tell ya, it’s good to be home. I mowed the grass as soon as we got home and had a moment of clarity: Somewhere amongst all the complaining, aspiring, and stressing I do so often, I very easily lose sight of how wonderful our life is. Erin and I have each other, a great pair of people who (most of the time…no one’s perfect :) ) enjoy each other; Maggie is here and she’s great; I have a job that does more (although not much more sometimes) than pay the bills; there’s a ton of things to do and enjoy; and there’s so much about it all to look forward to. Life is good in these mountains.

Anyway, about the title to this post: We made it down there in 10 hours, mostly because it was our first long road trip with the Magpie, but we did the return trip in 8.5 hours. I was pretty happy about that. Both ways were easy traveling with not much traffic and some really good conversation. Go on over to the photo gallery now and in the next couple days to see evidence of our trip.
