What kind of a husband am I?

I have known, intuitively, for a long time that I have the best wife in the world. Not only is she Super Mama, but she also encourages me when I am down, lets me know I am loved (in spite of myself), handles more of our domestic life than seems fair, and manages–somehow–to be beautiful while doing all of that. However, it was last Friday or Saturday, as we were teaming up on Wyatt to change a diaper, that this truth became undeniable. I asked her if she wanted to do anything special for Valentine’s Day. Her reply? “I would like some wings and beer—from Hooters.” I’m glad I wasn’t holding anything at the time—like the baby—because I surely would have dropped it. I managed to say, “Ok baby, if that’s what you really want…” So, that’s what we did—shared a plate of hot wings and a tall glass of beer while coaching Maggie on the importance of doing well in college so she wouldn’t have to be a waitress and Wyatt on the fact that one’s outer beauty is unimportant because it’s what one has on the inside that really counts. (Ok, so the second part of that sentence may be a bit of an exaggeration…)
