She has no need of us; gradually and with wisdom she cares for herself

We had a really nice storm move through here last night, the first in a long time. (It is the desert, after all; we don’t get much of that stuff they call rain.) It had all the necessary items: wind, thunder, rain (albeit not much), and, of course, lightening. The lattermost of these caused a bit of heartache. It has been exceedingly hot and dry of late; combined with lightening, you really ought to expect some trouble. It didn’t take trouble long to arrive. Before we even got the storm at the house, we could large (VERY LARGE) plumes of smoke rising in the (not so far away) distance. Turns out, they were brush fires ignited by the lightening. As bad as it was, it was still cool to be able to say we have witnessed nature’s cleansing.
