*From the book Desert Solitaire by Edward Abbey. We actually read this book to Maggie. It’s a very significant book, one which has had a great deal to do with the rise of the environmental movement in the last 50 years. Yeah, it’s pretty opinionated, written by a guy who had very radical viewpoints, and not exactly recent (originally published in the ’60s) but well worth the read. Plus, to make it even better, Abbey grew up in Home, PA which is about 20 miles away from ‘home.’
It is going to be 107 degrees here on Thursday and Friday — Must leave immediately or will melt!
