A terrible ten days

Posted on May 21, 2007 - Filed Under Uncategorized

The human body (and our ability to deal with it’s ups and downs) is very curious. As you know if you’ve been following along lately, Erin and Maggie were sick this time last week; I had flown under the radar. Then, Wednesday evening, my karma caught up with me but by Saturday, I thought it was largely over. We had been warned, with regard to Maggie, that this thing can come in ebbs and flows, almost disappearing and then resurging. Well, that happened to me last night. I went to the hospital this morning, which didn’t do anything for me in a treatment sense (because all they did for me was prescribe some medicine after diagnosing me as having a ‘viral syndrome’) but did legitimize my symptoms. This was mostly for the benefit of my boss who has been very generous in allowing me time off because of this thing. (I had last Monday and Tuesday off to help care for Erin and Maggie, last Thursday for me, and now today and tomorrow under doctor’s orders.)

Some might think all this time off might be a good thing; not so. I have spent the overwhelming majority of the time laying in bed in much too much discomfort to do much of anything. I’ll tell you what–being sick, especially with this kind of thing, is almost a curse. I hope none of you pick up this awful, awful thing.

Well, I have certainly heard of germs passing through the air and your lovely daughter constantly reminds they can be transmitted from person to person if the two people touch the same thing. However, I have never heard of them going from place to place telepathically.

Jill–Oh God!! That’s a horrible thought…being on the road feeling like we have felt recently. Thanks for pointing out the positive.
