Maggie updates from Mama

After turning one year old, Maggie’s development has hit the warp-speed. About 2 weeks ago she started communicating with Jason and me by pointing and making an ‘Eh’ sound. Most of the time she wants my cell phone, the cordless phone or her bottle. I am also learning new things at warp-speed. For example, last week Maggie had my cell phone, hit the speed dial number for Jill and pressed send. After that experience I now turn off my cell phone before I give it to her. Maggie has also made many attempts to call the Operator on our home phone. Jason went and found an old cordless phone that looks like the one we use and gave it to her. Amazingly Maggie already know how to hold the phone. She even pretends to talk into it. Just this morning she grabbed her phone, put it to her ear and said “Eh, Eh, Eh”. She handed it to me when she was done ‘talking’.
Maggie has picked up walking quite well. She now walks through the house without falling. It is amazing to me how she went from talking a few steps on her birthday to being able to walk so well two weeks later. Maggie, evidently, is so confident in her walking skills that she feels comfortable enough to puts a crib sheet over her head and walks around the house. She thinks it is so funny. She rarely bumps into things too. (I thinks she can see a bit through the sheet). Don’t worry grandmas - we watch her!
Maggie also loves the outdoors. 99% of the time Maggie will let you take her out of any situation without a fuss - except when she is outside. When Jason comes home from work he plays with Wilson in the yard and lets Maggie walk/crawl around. When it is time to come inside, she screams in protest and kicks back her legs. Once back in the house she points to the door and says “Eh!”
