During lunch, something occurred to me which never has. Those who serve in the military do so to, more than anything else, protect and preserve our freedom and democracy, right? That’s a given, albeit something many Americans have never thought about and therefore, don’t appreciate. Secondly, it’s by virtue of our democracy that people are elected. Thirdly, it’s by virtue of occupying that position of power that people have the opportunity to do the right thing and serve the American public honorably or act in corrupted fashion, committing unethical or even criminal acts. So, here it is in math form:

A strong and able military = democracy and freedom OR A = B

Democracy and freedom = Individuals (some of whom are or become corrupt) elected by the people OR B = C

Logic then dictates the following:

A strong and able military = Individuals (some of whom are or become corrupt) elected by the people OR If A = B and B = C, then A must equal C

Bottom line: Because the military ensures we continue to enjoy democracy and freedom, the door remains open for people who do not act in an honorable way to hold positions of power and enoromous influence in our nation. Have you ever thought about the sacrifaces members of the military make? According to this logic, those sacrifaces are made, in part, so that corrupt politicians can continue to satisfy their unethical/criminal tendanencies. So, not only are these people awful for what they do, they add another room to their special place in Hell by pissing all over members of the military.

Well, I certainly appreciate the reference but, unfortunately, I was unable to locate an online version of the article. I’m sure it was quite interesting, though.
