Our weekly lunch date

I am not nor have I ever been a fast food junkie. Jason, however, has flirted with being one. Thankfully he always regains clarity after a bad meal. When I was younger, I would eat McDonald’s as a treat maybe one or two times a year. I was very monogamous to my ‘burger joint’, never cheating by feasting on Burger King (my mother always claimed BK restaurants were dirty), Wendy’s, Crystals, ect. There are many reasons for my lack of interest in fast food restaurants. The first reason is obvious, it is poor quality food. I once heard that one McDonald’s burger could contain meat from up to 1200 inhumanly treated cows. Yks! Second, the calories are incredibly high for the amount of food you eat. I can eat my burger, fries and a coke only to discover I was hungry again soon after finishing the meal. Last but not least, in most cases, I have found that people who work in the fast food industry usually work there because they are either young or lack the skills to work a better job. This, more often than not, leads to a lack of cleanliness & caring about the product being served. So with all that said, I must confess that I cheated on McDonald’s with Burger King on my way to give birth to Maggie - and I loved it! For a long time I believed that it was my hormones that made me do what I did, until I tried BK here in Mountain Home. I must point out that although I have a new infatuation with BK I will only eat at the BK in Mountain Home. The primary reason for this is because the restaurant is really clean. Additionally, this restaurant is one of the best and highest paying jobs you can find in this town, thus leading to the workers actually caring about what they are serving. Once a week I try to get Jason to meet Maggie and I there for lunch so I can get my fix. Jason finds my infatuation with BK a bit odd and usually complains about going there. He normally gives in knowing that our food options around his work are extremely limited. I am sure my new interest in BK will soon fade and I will be headed back toward the ol’ trusty salad bar in no time.

Oh good, I can`t wait to have a whopper there. I love them, unfornately or fortunately, you found a clean one. I was sure the people at the one in Mentor had evey std that was known to man.
I want to agree. Suzanne did you know the health depatment closed that one beacuse to many violations and the one on 306 for the same reasons. ( I think it was the same owner/operator) Anyway the one close us seems ok.
