Did anyone else notice during last night’s State of the Union address that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi was very uncomfortable when the President would say something she disagreed with? I saw this come in the form of her licking her lips each time this would happen. This doesn’t exactly give me the warm fuzzy I would like to have regarding the leadership of the political party in power of Congress and with which I agree the most. I don’t want someone who is visibly bothered by tension; I want someone who engages in confrontation constructively and with a winning spirit. If a real fight is required, I don’t want the person fighting for my side to be nervous. Maybe I am reading into it too much…then again, nonverbal signals mean a great deal, sometimes more than what a person actually says.
