*Sounds Better in a Song by Drive By Truckers. As anyone who reads this blog regularly knows, I REALLY like this band. This song is really sad but it has some beautiful and very meaningful lyrics.
I am writing this on behalf of Erin. She wants me to apologize for her not writing during this trip, but by the end of the day, she is just too wiped out. It’s a combination of Maggie waking her up at night, how much breastfeeding takes from a woman’s body, her normal energy level (not high), and just the generally long days we’ve been having.
Anyhow, yesterday Erin was breastfeeding Maggie and when Maggie stopped eating, she looked up and said “Mama?” in the sweetest voice she ever heard. Of course, it could have been an accidental vocalization but it may also be her first word, which would be pretty exciting. We don’t know–is seven months to soon for a baby to be intentionally speaking?
