WTF?

It seems like I’m forever running into things that people are trying to tell me I need and therefore I should buy. Some of these things–car seat for the Pie, a computer, a pair of hiking shorts not made of cotton–are good things, whether because they improve safety, comfort, or life in general. However, there are those things which just seem to cross the line of what is reasonable. I saw something tonight called Twang Lemon Lime Beer Salt. Supposedly, if you put this stuff around the rim of your beer bottle, glass, etc., it enhance your beer drinking experience by taking away some of the bitterness. First thing’s first: Beer is bitter and that’s that. It’s good that way. Sure, many folks perfer a beer that is not as bitter but it doesn’t completely cease being that way. If you don’t like the bitterness of beer, you chose to drink something else. Secondly, people have been drinking beer in its ‘natural’ state for thousands of years; why screw with it now?
It’s just irritating when people come along with these completely stupid products, trying to tell me I need it. Anyway, try it and let me know.
