The journey has begun (with our stuff)

The deed is done. The movers just left. Everything we own, save enough to get us through the next (approximately) two months, is on a semi soon to be bound for Mountain Home, Idaho. We were really lucky to have a group of people (six total) who seemed very professional and to care about our stuff. But that’s only the first part: now everything has to make the trip, survive storage, and be moved from storage into our new home once we arrive and get settled in.
We, on the other hand, do not seem very professional when it comes to deciding what we need to take with us. I really think we have more than is going to fit in the RAV. I don’t quite know what we’re going to do if that ends up to be the case. I guess we’re going to have to send some stuff. Maggie, thanks to her Mama, is resembling the ladies of the 1800’s in the amount of stuff we are bringing with us for her. You’ve seen those movies where well-to-do ladies are stepping off of stagecoaches or whatever and they have bag after bag? Well, Maggie has enough clothes planned for this trip that she could probably get away with wearing each piece of clothing only once (just kidding!).
One of the advantages of not having all the money in the world is that you don’t really develop an attachment to too many material items. Therefore, for the most part, if something doesn’t survive the process, it’s likely it won’t be missed too greatly. It will be more a matter of the inconvenience of having to replace it. Oh well, I guess all we can hope for is the best.
