“Without change, something sleeps inside us, and seldom awakens. The sleeper must awaken.”*

*Frank Herbert, science fiction author, Dune, etc. This quote is very appropriate for our move to Idaho. Recently, I have often found myself driving to work and walking into the building in the morning asleep, obviously not physically but definately spiritually, mentally, emotionally. Work makes up so much of our lives that, if it’s bad, it can easily impact other aspects of who we are, including our inner lives. I began to grow tired of blaming my dissatisfaction on my job and therefore, decided to make a change. Afterall, if you’ve got something to complain about and you aren’t doing anything to change it, especially when the object of your complaint is fully within your control, then maybe you don’t have much right to complain at all. Erin was growing ready for a change as well. Although we love it here in WNC, she began to feel it was becoming time to move on. She longs for new experiences and meeting new people; she loves learning new things and truly seeing what it is like to live in different places. We are more than confident this change will serve to awaken us, something of immense value and VERY good for our family and our souls.
Well, it’s becoming a definate reality: the movers are here right now, the home phone no longer works, and the washing machine & dryer have been disconnected–WE ARE MOVING!!! Everyone is handling the movers really, really well. Maggie has been content with all the activity, Wilson has been mostly chillin’ and listening when we tell him to lay down, and the cats are not screaming their heads off, despite being locked in the bathroom.

Hi Erin and Jason!
Good luck with the move and settling into the next phase of your life. Sorry to see you go, but congratulations on making a desired change. Hope you come back to visit sometimes or at least let us know how you’re doing. Love reading the blogs - hope you still get time to post them!
Have fun y’all,
Anne

Thank you Jill. Kindness and empathy from loved ones is always helpful during stressful times.
Anne–
Sorry about not getting to your comment until now. The comments of first time commenters don’t get posted automatically; the system requires that we approve them first.
Anyhow, thanks for your encouraging words. The friendship of folks like you will be one of the many things about leaving Asheville that lead to the shedding of tears (figuarative and literal, I’m sure). We hope all continues to go well for you. Thanks for reading the blog; it really is a great way for all of us to stay in touch.
Do your best to keep Karen in check–I know it’s challenging duty
