Discipline vs pain

I saw a quote today in the magazine Runner’s World:
The pain of discipline is always less than the pain of regret.
Any thoughts?

Yeah… I have some input on that quote… it’s true. Last night Amy was working and it was me and my rugrats and they wouldn’t eat the fish I grilled for them or anything else, so I decided to order a pizza. The pizza gets here and they each have a slice and leave me the rest. I could have stopped at two slices, or even three… but I ate the rest of it b/c of lack of discipline. And now I’m regretting it and plan on working out today (my off day). So my legs will not be as fresh as they could be for tomorrow. The weather is looking promising by the way.
Well, from what I can tell via research on the web, we burnt between 3200 and 4000 calories on Sunday. However, the bacon cheeseburger, fries, pitcher of beer, and leftover wings cancelled the effect I’m sure. Oh well, can’t be Jake all the time.
Yeah, I’m an idiot. My plan was to weigh myself before and after to see how much I dropped on that epic journey we went on. I ended up gaining a pound after all that food/beer. Oh well… twas still a blast.
It strikes me as odd how sometimes your knowledge of the human is eclipsed by your dedication to fitness. You know that weighing yourself right after exercising is not indicative of your true weight, due to the loss of water. I’m pretty sure one’s body has to come back to a level of appropriate hydration before you can hope to get an accurate weight.
yeah, yeah, I know… but I was just curious to see how much water weight I dropped. Are you going to post the other pictures you took that day on your site. I’m just curious to see how that one we took at the very end turned out.
